The Hach Sigma 1600 is a dipper type sampler. Because the 1600 simulates a grab sample technique, it is considered the most representative collection method. The liquid in the chamber is turbulent and well mixed, and the dipper arm passes through the flow cross-section removing a repeatable sample volume.

With a 2" sample inlet, the 1600 offers superior solids handling capability. Further, the 1600 need not locate near the sample source. Samplers may be conveniently located while pumps or gravity deliver a wastewater stream from each stage of the treatment process. To assure no degradation of the sample liquid, sample temperature is tightly controlled at 4°C.

With an all-fiberglass body and refrigeration components corrosion protected with a tough, chemically resistant coating, the 1600 holds up in waste treatment environments. This sampler is available with a 2½-gallon glass or 3-gallon polyethylene composite container as well as (24) 475 ml polyethylene bottles.
